The Charette Project
Wednesday, January 04, 2006

Everyone has called us to ask how we faired in the recent rains and floods. We are fine! The creek behind our house turned into a roaring river but at its height, it was still about 15 feet below grade of our property. I took Alex out to watch it and he was amazed (so was I). Our favorite little downtown, San Anselmo got flooded with up to four feet of water.

A friend of a friend posted these photos and movie for you to see:

In architecture, a charette is a quick design process.

Name:Michael Scherotter
Location:Fairfax, California, United States

I was educated as an architect but I found my passion in software architecture and development. Many skills that I have learned in my architectural education have enabled me to excel at designing, building, and explaining software systems:

  • The ability to change scales and my point of view from the micro to the macro.
  • The ability to think in three dimensions and draw what I am visualizing.
  • The ability to organize and manage complex projects and systems.
  • Lateral thinking and creative problem solving.
