Sam (6 months) slept through the night last night! I have been dreaming about when he'd do that. I thought I would feel better after six hours of consecutive sleep, but I am still tired! I guess I have six months of lost zzzz's to catch up on- it may take some time to catch up.

How tired am I?

Its kinda of embarrasing but several times I have left the refrigerator door open and just walked out of the kitchen. I left my car keys on top of the car (when I unloaded kids and stroller, diaper bags, etc.) and walked away with them still sitting up there. I turn on the water at the kitchen faucet, and walk out of the room. Last month I took Sam to the mall and after I put him in his stroller. I walked away from the car with the driver door wide open and my wallet in the front seat! We came back an hour later and found the car exactly as I left it. I left a pan of something (of course I cannot remember what it was!) on the stove while I went in the other room to help Alex with his puzzle. I didn't remember until I smelled it burning! Oh yeah, I just remembered- it was a quesadilla! Who burns a quesadilla? I dont even know how to spell quesadilla anymore.

So desperate to feel awake I have even resorted to drinking REGULAR coffee. Before Sam I would never have dreamed of drinking a whole cup of regular joe. I am a decaf girl. Regular coffee made me shake, ramble, run. Call 911 if I had coffee- I was a mess. THAT is how tired I have been with two kids. I am drinking the regular stuff.

The other day I ran out of milk for my cup of coffee and I actually considered leaving the kids alone in the house while I ran across the street to the store to buy milk! Luckily my friend Anne called while I contemplated this and she talked me out of it. So crazed for something milky in my java, I eyed the small container of breast milk in the refrigerator- although I decided against it, I took that thought further as I eyed the can of infant formula. Yes, I really did mix up a small amount thinking it might pass, but once I took a whiff, I just decided to drink it sans milk.
