Pathfinder Swingset sold by Sams Vs Sunray 2006 Costco

I am planning to buy/install swing set in Chicago area. I need your input regarding the difference between the Pathfinder Deluxe Wooden Swingset Vs Sunray 2006.

How does the Sunray 2006 compare to the Pathfinder Deluxe Wooden Swingset from Sams club

1. Qaulity of the Wood used.
2. Qaulity of the Hardware used.
3. Easy to assemble.
4. Future expansion possibilites.
5. Warranty, easy to reach customer service etc.

I am also looking for a installer in Chicago/Schaumburg Area. Please e-mail me at nagsen05@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Look for the post in this forum for the installer in your area, Chicago. As far as comparing the sets, I honestly don't know too much about that Pathfinder set. I do know quite a bit about the Sunray, and can tell you that 98% of the people that buy it are very happy with it (you can't please everybody!). The wood is very good quality, and comes with a 15 year warranty for wooden parts. Hardware is also high quality, and sturdy. Ease of assembly? Well, that's debatable. My opinion is subjective, because I have assembled so many of these sets that I find it relatively easy (like anything else, if you do it enough times, you become proficient at it). There are no expansion possibilities- the Sunray was not set up for that purpose. Customer service is outstanding; anytime I have needed to order replacement parts, usually they arrive within 8 days, no questions asked.
All in all, I think the Sunray is a good bargain for the money.

Thanks Scott for the reply.

Price wise I see a $300 difference, yes the Pathfinder set does not have a good warranty on it.

I have one more question.

Both Sunray and Pathfinder wood are 100% Cedar and Redwood, but Pathfinder customer servicer advise the wood to be treatment every year. Is it the same for Sunray? Do we need to use water selant etc. to treat the wood every year?

Please advise,
